Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Re: Hull Identification Number
Unless that boat was originally sold to North America and probably the USA in particular, it generally would not have a HIN as European governmental registration agencies used the yard build number

James,
If you are doing this before buying the boat it sounds like there is not too much you can take apart but if you have concerns about seized valve guides then just removing the rocker cover

On my 1981 boat I have a number laminated into the engine room hull on the port side. It would be obscured if painted over.

OK. I understand the model you have. I think it is better than mine because it is simpler.
Try this: Turn OFF the 30 Amp 230VAC breaker on the side. Try to start. Does it start and run OK? If it

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Hull Identification Number
Some older Amels do not have HIN numbers. My 1990 SN24 was assigned one by the State of Maryland. Joel would have better information.

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Hull Identification Number
Mine is engraved into the gelcoat on the stbd side very close to the stern. I am not sure when Amel started this...mine is a 2003.
However, if you have a copy of the registration, it should be there,

I am not sure what you mean by "field breaker." Could you explain that further. My Onan has an Emergency Stop switch (breaker), a DC Breaker, and a 230VAC 30 Amp breaker. This 30 Amp breaker is

Would a 92' SM have a HIN affixed to the hull somewhere? I cannot seem to locate it. I am not talking about the metal placard next to the companionway stairs. I am looking for the 12 digit alpha

Hi all,
As a prospective AMEL owner (hopefully not too long now), I can vouch for all that has been said - potential buyers are active searching every forum, sometime for years before 'going public'.
