Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] B&G Depth Transducer
It is possible that you have a lot of growth on the transducer.
The way that you remove it is unscrew the retainer or the transducer and pull it out replacing it with the plug. Yes you will get some

Re: B&G Depth Transducer
Hello
If you like, I can send you the fault finding part of the B&G Hydra 2 manual concerning the depth transducer. With that in hand you can move forward. Just provide me with your email.

Interesting observation - it seemed like one of those purposeful Amel things. The space does not communicate with anything - it is simply a hollow void below the propeller shaft housing. I

Mike, the brass gear is probably worn in the gearbox. I know mine was. I think getting a new gearbos is not a bad idea, possibly Amel can order you a new top plate as a spare.

Thanks Mike,
I think you will find it much cheaper and quite satisfactory to have a new top plate made by an engineering firm rather than buying a new gear box

Thanks Danny. As usual, there is more than 1 way to skin a cat. And it seems Amel owners find many ways.

Hi Craig,
Wow you did some job on that sail drive. Although it is different than the Super Maramu it is similar in many ways. Do you have more photos of the engine room side?

Hi Mike, If you think you will need a new gearbox and shaft, the simplest solution is the one adopted by Amel in Guadeloupe for us when we were in the same position---take a saw and cut through

Re: Mainsail outhaul gearbox
Hi Mike,
I got it out by disassembling the boom, taking it from the boat and solid punching,
but
you need to put the support in the right place, otherwise you might brake something you don´t want to
