Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Autopilot problem
Hi Paul
Not sure of the old control unit is compatible with the s3g course computer. We have the s3g and was deply advised to change the control unit also. It has worked like a clock.

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] illustration of the Galvanic Isolator Installation
I can not speak for the newer boats, but on my boat the installed transformer is most certainly NOT an isolation transformer.
The safety ground is continuous through the unit, which it would not be

Many thanks to all who replied. I see no reason to remove the inner clutch cone at this point and plan to keep the cones greased on a six to 12 month basis.

Hi Alexandre,
From the website it would appear to be an isolation transformer. When I purchased my galvanic isolator the support team were very helpful with technical information. Suggest you

Paul,
You did not say whether or not you went through the Calibrations in the S3G manual after you installed it. From what you said, my first thought is maybe you did not.

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Shore power plug questions.
Hi Alexandre,
Maybe I have confused the issue a bit.....
The 16A limit is for the shorepower because of the plug...and the size of the cable you have on your extension lead.
The gen set can deliver

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Shore power plug questions.
That's true but if you try to draw 30A from a dock outlet that is only rated to 16A, you will trip the breaker on the dock..If you run too many 220V items at the same time you can easily exceed

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Shore power plug questions.
Good afternoon Alan,
Very interesting…
I had no clue the boat limit was 16 amp…
I thought it was 32 amp (because of the 32 amp breaker on the 220 volt panel in the galley).
Why putting a 32 amp

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Super Maramu air conditioning raw water pump
Hi Joel,
On Kristy, there was no breaker for that pump. I installed one as per installation instructions from Climma on the existing 220 panel in the galley (an unused breaker)

Good afternoon Alan,
Thanks very much for your reply.
Just to make sure, even thought it says 16 amp on the plug, it is ok to connect them to a 32 amp connection and obtain up to 32 amp from

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Shore power plug questions.
Hi Alexandre,
Apart from the 4 pin red plugs, we have the same set of plugs and cables plus a few more for South Pacific connections.
The 16A and 32A plugs are different sizes. The boat system is 16A,

Super Maramu air conditioning raw water pump
On the Super Maramu,. Hull # 400+, what/where is the protection/circuit breaker for the salt/raw water pump for the air conditioners? I think this was discussed but my search came up with nothing.

Hello Martin. The red on your Amel 54 is, unless it has been modified/painted, gel coat. Red is second only to black for its tendency to heavily oxidize when exposed to the sun. It can be compounded

Red line on the hull became matt - how to polish
Hi friends,
My AMEL 54 dates from 2010. The red line on the top edge of the hull became matt over the years. Any ideas how to make it nice and shiny again? Polish? But it is obviouslly no gelcoat.
