Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Bow Thruster Housing
Nameless, Since you asked , how to rebuild , I assume you would like to do this yourself , otherwise you could let a fabricator determine how to. If you had access to a similar boat on the hard , then

Bill,
Could you share some of your knowledge and experience with the Amel bow thruster? For instance, what techniques do you find work best when backing using the thruster? Also what procedures

If I were you, I would go to a boatyard that not only has another Santorin (I assume you have a Santorin), but also a contractor capable of fabricating a replacement, or repairing

I just switched ours out to the heavier weight per Amel Martinique's recommendation. I don't really like having to carry the extra oil of different weights aboard (having spare oil is important to me

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] anchor chain wash
On Peregrinus, the anchorwash is effective on sand and light mud. The pump is a reliable old, rusty Shurflo that does its job.
For heavy mud, this is insufficient, and our solution is to quickly run

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] C-Drive Oil
Duane,
If you went to Amel in Martinique and had them do the job, they would use 80-90 weight gear oil.
Does this answer your question?

C-Drive Oil
What type of oil are you using in the C-Drive? The instructions in the "files" section calls for 15/20W40, but there is a note that the newer Amels use 80-90 weight gear oil.

We took a different route; we simply connected the chain wash to the “fresh water system” and removed the “headache” pump altogether.
Effectively, the jet is not very powerful

Hello Pat,
I can totally relate to all the time you spent moving the boat, plus determining what was damaged…
Yes hopefully this is the only claim for both of us !!!
Hope we meet

Good afternoon Alex,
Same as Jean Pierre, 15HP Yamaha Enduro. 2 Stroke purchased by the previous owner in 2010 in St Martin for 1844 Euro.
I wouldn’t choose anything bigger, as it perfectly fit in
