The only time I have ever heard the DST-800's "tock, tock" was when I took it out to clean it and I put it in vinegar while it was still on. I turned it off.

We also have the P79 as a 2nd depth sounder right up in the fwd under floor section of the front cabin and can unfortunately confirm that all these particular units are really excellent with no need

I am the owner of a 33 year old Perkins 4-154 with 9600 hours on it. When I bought the boat it had 4600 hours. I have never cleaned/changed the injectors or adjusted the valves. I change the fuel

How very strange...
I have installed two of these on different boats and never heard a thing inside the boat. Either my ears are not very good, (they are not!) or your unit transmits on lower order

The pictures you see are actually when I purchased the vessel.
As you can see it was (still is) in excellent condition!
The red/green came with the boat, it just show when the wheel

We also mounted the P79 next to the old B&G transducer. Easy to install, works fine and gives good readings, but the sound that it makes is annoying, the „tock – tock - tock …“ encourages me

When we no longer needed the factory transducer hole under the forward cabin, we simply used the spare black plastic blanking plug that Pochon kindly left there tied to a little string.
