Our lopolight masthead unit failed after 2 years and was changed by Amel.Last year my back light failed and I replaced it and will now send to lopolight.

Hi Dean,
The hydra 3000 on our boats are not connected to the compass of the Furuno Navpilot- perhaps to keep the system simple.So I also have heading off.

Of the previous 10 calls I worked on that where electronics that were not working properly.... 9 of them were a bad connection. Only one was a faulty transducer. Start from the control unit

Hi again.
If the shaft is seized the safe option ie not destroying the gear box, is heat from a big blow torch. A professional size torch, not a toy.

Anti seize grease??. Since I began using lanacote I have had no problems. Lanacote is a lanoline product. (Obviously)

Wow Mike, I replaced my worn origional gearboxes and had no problem with the outhaul shaft. My plastic mounting spacers look a tad fragile for the bottle jack anyway. Now the mail furler shaft was

So it appears that the picture attachments worked.
Couple of other notes. The ¼” gap between the chrome trim and the wood threshold of the companionway could easily be filled with a black caulk

We found a pretty good replacement for the weather seal on the sliding companionway hatch on the SM2000. Belt Weatherstrip/Window Scraper Seal from Rockauto.com part no. 1371-4X2. 2 48" pcs cost $29.

The broken bit is supposed to slip into a hole on the inboard end of the main /large pole.
