I've been working on my windlass recently. The motor wires directly to the negative battery terminal. The switching happens on the positive side.

Foghorn?
Has anyone fitted a foghorn on the main mast? I don't see too many boats with one, but we were in fog for 8 hours earlier this year, and an automatic horn driven by the vhf would have been great.

I assume KRISTY is still on the hard. Maybe you should measure the voltage between the rail and earth, and the windlass case and earth. Let me know...I have several ideas.

In the USA you can only use the tricolor while sailing. It is not used while motoring or motor sailing.

Hi Thomas yes we have both switches and need both on for our propane to work. I do not know if it is because we have both Butane and Propane but that is how Trippin works.
