Re: New furlers on an Amel 54
Yes FKG did the mechanics. I did all electrics myself.
Haven’t been out sailing yet but they seem to have done a good job.

Re: Requesting advice marinas in Puerto Rico and St. Thomas
Thank you Gary. Yes, I experienced a bit of sticker shock with the St. Thomas rates.

Re: Fw: [Amel Yacht Owners] more photos
For reasons once explained to me but long ago forgotten, not all Amel boats of any model are sequential by hull number. Many are while some are not.
I have seen boats of a "newer/younger"hull number

Thanks Mike,
You would have to remove the pulley block at the fwd end of the track also. What is it that holds that on ? Is it the eye bolt in the pulley axle ?

Re: Fw: [Amel Yacht Owners] more photos
It seems AMEL changed the stem fitting right after Jeff's Hull #14. I own #15 and was lucky to find out that my 54 has the 20mm stem fitting.
Sorry to hear about everything Jeff had to go through

Mine's a Santorin, so my socket is 12v and is for an electric dinghy pump.
I have a few cables going through that conduit; aerial cables for SAT phone and Navtex and cable and earth wires for

Hi Woody,
I have a 54 but used the same conduit for my solar and wind generators. That 24v socket is live on my boat and is for an electric dinghy inflator! I believe the conduit is for a SSB antenna

Yes, the conduit was for a SSB installation. Amel did some verynice things to aid in after-factory SSB installs. This was one of them. Theaddition of the dynaplate on the rudder is another plus saving

Re: Mystery Conduit
Pretty sure the conduit was for the SSB connection from the nav station to the tuner.
The outlet is for a dedicated 24 volt dinghy inflation pump. Amel took two 12 volt pumps, wire tied them together

Holy cow! It’sno wonder the marinas in St. T where empty when we were there. I guess you don’tneed very many boats if the fees per boat are so high.

Mystery Conduit
Hi All
While exploring ways to run cable for solar from the aft of the boat to the battery bank, I discovered an empty conduit running from near the nav station to the aft locker. It's siliconed up at

Re: Requesting advice marinas in Puerto Rico and St. Thomas
I know that in St. Thomas things will be expensive. Crown Bay Marina came in at $4.15 per foot per day, with our a slight discount for monthly rates. Yacht Haven Grande is higher and I'm not sure

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Genoa sheet cars
Thanks Bill,
I now have a couple of sets of the sliders.
how did you go about replacing them ?
Did you need to take the car off the track?
If so, how did you go about that?
There's been some talk
