Re: propeller/engine vibration
Thank you all for the info. I should have mentioned in my original post that we have a fixed propeller (I think its the original spare). I'm a bit concerned about this domed mastic thing...

I purchase most of my supplies from Aircraft Spruce https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/siliconecowlseals.php
This is what I used: The fiberglass insert is really fiberglass woven

Hey Kent. Sure sounds appealing, and NJ is close. I would prefer class on Volvo TMD22. Thanks for giving this another shot.

Diesel Class
Hi all,
I tried a couple of years ago to put together a diesel maintenance and repair class for Amel owners with Mac Boring in New Jersey. I couldn’t make it work then, but I am going to try again.

Re: New Caliper design for the Shaft Brake
I looked up the piece and it is not in their catalog. I believe it is manufactured only for Amel.

Re: propeller/engine vibration
Hi Giovanni,
I do not have a photo because it is not visible. It is sealed with a black silicone sealant at the base of the C drive at the keel. It looks like a black silicone circle about 25-30 mm

Check that the prop is clean and also take note - when was the last time you greased it? You can lubricate the prop without a haul out if you think it through. We had a similar situation and after

Re: propeller/engine vibration
Craig,
I usually look up the torque specifications for the bolt if I want it really tight.
Most times just tight to my touch with a wrench or socket.
I recall looking up the torque for the C drive

Re: propeller/engine vibration
Eric - is there a spec for the lbf (or N-m) to torque it to?
I just snug it with a socket wrench between "pretty tight and really tight" - seems fine.
My propeller, on the other hand, does specify 60

Re: propeller/engine vibration
If you notice that the mastic is domed and not flat where the c drive is fastened to the Keel then you definitely have to remove the mastic clean up the area and clean the bolt. Make sure to apply
