Re: Anchor Chain Size and Length
Thank you guys, I was mistaken, My current chain length is 60 m. Clearly, 100m plus extra 30 of rope should be plenty.
Theo, congratulations on Paloma. The Ultra anchor is beautiful.

Hi Duane,
I had a very good time in La Bahia de Luperon in 2014. Officials were coming aboard but they were very friendly and professional. Compared to the rest of the Caribbean it’s rather cheap

On my A50, Amel is installing 100m of 10mm G4 chain. I plan to splice 30m of 8-plait rode at the end of it, for the deeper anchorages, or stronger blows. The factory recommended the 35kg Ultra anchor,

Craig,
I think theremarkable part of the Pantaenius requirements is the fact, in my opinion, itwould be impossible to meet the requirements anywhere in the Carib. When Ifirst read these changes

Given this topic is about ways to keep your boat further south, this is probably irrelevant, but I feel compelled to add it: I had BoatUS coverage on my old boat and dropped it when they switched to

Hi Duane and Peggy. I can echo Marko CREAMPUFF’S sentiments. I have been to the DR several times. I could hardly wait to leave. Other than Haiti, it is the most unpleasant place in the Caribbean
