try the mallet Bill suggested.
Mine played up in Antigua last year.
If someone stands near the solenoids, you will hear them click if they are working. If they are power is going to the motor.

Wind Generators
I have two Rutland 1200ās on Amelia and two 275w solar.
For the money the solar payback is a no brainer. Money well spent.
As for the WGās. The payback is poor and although the blades are silent

Hi Bill,
Correct ā furling motor/gearbox.
Did loosen as you described below; can furl & unfurl manually - no sail jam.
Did NOT rap the gearbox; it is night now; will do tomorrow.

Re: AMEL 54 main furler
First check the simple things:
I assume you are having an issue with the furling motor/gearbox and not the outhaul motor/gearbox.
Loosen the 4 bolts on the furling motor/gearbox, lower the unit enough

I have had very good experiences with my Superwind half way up the mizzen mast. It substantially contributes to balancing the power needs on Kincsem on most days without anyone noticing it is there.
