Re: 12V supply near 24V panel on Amel 54
I had to run some 12v wiring on my SM. It's not difficult but will require a bit of patience and a good work light :).
I would definitely recommend that you tap power from a converter and not from

Re: Gearbox for outhaulAmel
Paul,
You may want to check the block at the end of the boom too, mine and others’ were a bit seized. We cleaned it up and also ordered a replacement from Amel, as it seems to be specially adapted

Re: Dyneema loop
Hi Thomas;
We managed to take the blocks apart. It does take some patience and work since the years of salt and dust have the parts fused together fairly well.
Once apart the new loops fit right in.

12V supply near 24V panel on Amel 54
Hi all,
Before I get onto a wild goose chase, does anyone know if there is a 12V power supply in the cabinet behind the 24V panel or nearby, and, if yes, where it comes from (starter battery or 24/12

Re: Davits & solar panels
Hi David,
On Garulfo we decided to have the front legs going to the toe rail.
I don’t think the bandwith here will allow me to send pics but there are a few where you can see details

Hi Mohammad,
I always wondered how one would fit those loops on the blocks if they are already closed? Some blocks look like they can be taken apart (and yet it would still be a tight fit), and others

Paul, i had a Little bit of water last Fall and tightened the nut 1/3 of a turn. No water so far this season. I would try to tighten the nut further before anything else.

Thank you Olivier, I will slacken off a little.
I was wondering if this was causing my slow blow boom fuse to open earlier than it should, as it seems to open often

Hello Paul,
originally, this line is rather tight, indeed as Bill says, in order to prevent slipage. But with time, UV and salt, this Vectran-core line tends to shrink and gets tighter and tighter
