Hi Mark, the gel coat restorer is a clear liquid that soaks into the gel coat and lifts the colour. I applied it by wiping and rubbing it in with a rag. Took me about half an hour to do the whole lot.

Hi Danny,
Looks awesome!!! Can you share the tint or color code you used to match the gel-coat color? Also, how did you obtain the matte finish for the paint, or is it matte paint.
Thanks,
Mark

After living in Florida for 32 years, and going through several hurricanes, I learned the best place to be is not where the hurricane is. We had all kinds of warning, and lots of time to head west,

Re: Super Maramu Rear Cabin - Proposed New Top hatch
Bill, I agree ,I would not use wood as a spacer, and if you don't go too big and place the hatch strategically a spacer is not necessary . It goes without saying that the core needs to be sealed well.

Regrettably, Bali Hai was lost in the Atlantic near the US shore when the crew abandoned her.
Here are some photos of an aft cabin hatch install on a SM. I do not recommend the wooden outside spacer

Hi George,
You will not be the first to do this. There was an SM called Bali Hai, based in Malta, whose owners did the same. Since sold, I don't know where it is today.

Re: Stuck mainsail swivel
Olivier,
That is the mizzen swivel but our problems are just with the main and, you are right, you can only turn the swivel 15 or 20 degrees if the bolt is in place.
The real complication is that,

As part of a post COVID set of upgrades while staying on the hard, we are considering installing a full size Lewmar style hatch, opening

Jose,
I understand that there are two different C-Drives on the Amel 55. The early 55's had the same size propeller shaft as the 54 and SM. Latter models were increased in size, from 38mm to 50mm. I
