Re: main outhaul
Hello Bill,
As You know, I own your great book. At the moment I only have a jaw puller. Where can I buy one of those axel pullers, I didn`t find anything similar.

Eloi

Re: Black box
Kent , They don't state if the bolts go all the way thru , my concern is or my question is , does the box need to be electrically isolated from the engine? It has been very hot and humid for weeks

Yes.
The following file is from my Amel Book Supplemental Files, and is what will make that job simple:
Main Outhaul & Furling Service Custom Gearbox S...
This is another puller that will also work.

main outhaul
Hello,
My main outhaul gearbox looks rather "used". I tried to remove the shaft to replace it. But it seems impossible with my straight jaw puller. I put on the max force I can but it doesn't move.

Pat,
Those studs are for vibration isolation. They do isolate electrically, but that is incidental. Like you we replaced ours when the old ones gave up. The studs do not connect through.

Hi Ron and all. Wind generators are not created equal. There are low price models that are what you pay for. Noisy, fragile and unable to cope with high winds. There is one the Duo 400 which is not

Re: Black box
Hi Pat. You can get any style you want at McMaster-Carr. If the bolt goes all the way through the rubber bushing, it wouldn't offer much vibration dampening.

Re: Mainsail furler gasket.
Gregory,
Not everyone knows that you have an Amel 54. And, not all Amel 54s have the motor that you have. A54 #172 was built late in the production of the 54 and has the same furling motor as A55s.

Re: Engine room lining on Amel 54
Hi Lior
I think the choice of the right solvent is more important. The first one I used was not gentle on the foam when I tested it. Then I tried Xylol and no problem.
