Our Santorin had a hydrovane.
It was great when it worked.
The front of the keel and the rudder are nicely angled to slough off any weed that you go through. The hydrovane rudder is vertical. Ours

An additional comment... You mention using 18mm sheets. For reasons that are not clear to me, this is a common "upgrade" to the Super Maramu.
Amel's specification for genoa sheets was 16 mm, double

I think the nature of the starlink constellation means the dish should generally be oriented parallel to the earth's surface with maximum visibility in all directions as possible.

Réjean & Fiora,
Great news. I am sure that your 54 will take care of you in calm seas and in rough storms. It's the rough storms that make you appreciate your choice in boats.

Hello All,
I’m following the group for few months studying the Amel 54.
Fiora and I just acquired the Amel 54 no 140, perfectly maintained by her first owner.
Vagamonda is now flying à San Marino

Hi Vladan, do you have round ones on PAME? I have rectangular gliders.
I suppose round ones could be an alternative for me.
