Re: 24 volt motor
I believe the Leroy Somers motor is exclusive to Amel. Unless, you have a part number different from Amel's for the same motor. I was told this from a large LS distributor

Re: Windlass cone lubrification yes or no?
Dennis. See below. Don’t use the Corrosion X oil, use this instead if you want the thick lubricity of a grease and the corrosion protection of Corrosion X. It’s worked great for us.

Re: Windlass cone lubrification yes or no?
Thanks I will start by applying some Corrosion X on one of the two cones to see if the slipping is not happening under medium load.

Re: Windlass cone lubrification yes or no?
Lofrans and Lewmar suggest grease. I suggest grease. You want the cones to slip under heavy loads or the key will bend and jam.

Windlass cone lubrification yes or no?
Hello Bill,
Do you advise putting some corrosion X on the friction cones of the windlass to get a good free fall? Or is it a bad idea leading to slipping in high load circumstances.
Thanks
Denis

Re: 24 volt motor
Which shaft are we talking about? The horizontal one on the electric motor? Or the vertical one that drives the line tender drum?
If it is the motor, the best option is probably to replace the motor.

Hi Christian
I have a santorin number 41. 1991
It had the Perkins 50 which I replaced with a Volvo D2 50. The motor is identical to the Perkins so easy to install. We had to increase the diameter

I do not have specific experience with that engine, but have a couple comments you might find useful.
You CAN use a shaft generator with a feathering propeller like a MaxProp. All you have to do is
