Totally agree about preserving access to bandwidth limited members. Google Groups might be worth a look. It allows users to categorize and organize on their own as opposed to forcing a structure on

that doesn't change in a forum. It allows for message to be better organized, but the real problem is that a web forum does not allow for items to be email and SSB email for the cruisers. Not sure

A true forum app doesn't "regiment people" to any great extent. It simply provides categories to allow people quicker and easier access to information on the topics they're interested in. I

I got new sails this year from "Beilken" in Germany. They are one of the the best and greatest Sailmakers in Germany, also in the regatta scene, but they know the special needs of bluewater- sailing.
