Re: Main Seachest Seacock Size Confirmation?
Bill,
I don't know on SM but on my A54 it's 2" or 50 mm thread on seacock. As of BSPP I can't be 100% sure but I think it is as all other valves I replaced on boat were BSPP

Re: problem with an old BOXTRON electric box of BAMAR 1.02
Hi Lior,
Did you check with Bamar?
Last year I ordered from them new EJF furlers and Boxtron E 14 boxes. I assume that they can supply Boxtron EM boxes as well.
Best Regards,

Re: Starlink - first impressions
Ours is working very well in Greece.
in the Marina (surprising with all the masts)
at anchor with boat swinging,
under way in bumpy seas.
Slows a bit in the rain, but still OK.

Ahoi Lior
Just one cent: ask on Reckmann Yachtequipment for these boxes. Reckmann changes on some Amel boats the Bamar furling system to their own which is much more stable. May be they have old stuff

Hi Bill,
As I understand, Amel is building all new vessels with plastic through hulls that match the valves; this obviates the bonding connection entirely. My surveyor has strongly recommended

I confess to have an (admittedly somewhat irrational and emotional) preference for the original bronze valve over plastic for this application. Especially since with a plastic valve, I don't see any

Bill,
I can't help you with the size or threads. However, If you are referring to the main seacock below the strainer that feeds the seachest, I can tell you that we had to replace ours and purchased

Dear Luis, Bill, Ruslan, and Courtney
Thank you so much for your feedback.
Courtney, I contacted Bamar. They told me that it is out of production (too old) and actually the MZ electronic produced it

We are going to need to replace the main seacock under our seachest. I assume this is a 1 1/2" BSPP thread fitting. Can someone who has done this confirm the sizing and thread spec?

Lior,
Your 54 originally came with 2 Boxtron units for each furler. One was an E14, the other was an EM. As you might expect EM stands for "emergency." It has no safeguards or alarms. The manual

Re: problem with an old BOXTRON electric box of BAMAR 1.02
Lior, recently I had an issue with Boxtron box as well. In the end it turned out that my box has 3 fuses and one of them blew up. I have 14S and yours is a bit earlier model, so I can’t tell you
