Re: Machining AMEL-specific tools in NZ (outhaul puller PLUS wrench for the rudder-post-packing nut)
You can buy a piece of 1/4 inch aluminum and cut the wrench out with a band saw ; it is very easy.
Just remove the packing nut and use it as a guide.
Attached is a photo of the wrench that I made .

Hi David,
Thanks for this effort. I have a different set up for the main outhaul with my older SM so no need for the special puller. I am, however, very keen on the rudder packing nut wrench.

We raised our anti-fowling to the top of the original orangestripe and then painted an Awlgrip red stripe. For us, this has workedperfectly.
With bestregards,

Hi all,
OK, I have some indicative numbers – it seems only 2 or 3 potentially for the puller for the main-outhaul.
Ross Hickey, SM#356, IntrepidKiwi
Raul Schleier, SM#344, SeaBean
I have no idea

Raising Boot Stripe
We have just hauled out and looking at raising the boot stripe on our Super Maramu. Does anyone in the group have photos showing their raised boot stripe. Thanks, Elaine and Michael from Nebo SM2000

Hi Fred,
I have no experience of the Amel 50, but my biased opinion is that the ketches are more suitable for a circumnavigation.
This is not to do with the ketch rig as such but to the overall ethos

It was exactly my dilemma . After test on A 50 it is more modern but I think less adapted for circumnavigation ( fridges are perpendicular to the axis as example )it is 1/3 to 50% more expensive than

Hey all,
I have recently removed and rebuilt the manual mainsail furler on my 1986 Sharki #133. I couldn't find any documentation on this procedure so I recorded my experiences in the attached word

David,
The number one reason some Amel owners do not achieve RPM at WOT is the AutoProp is fouled. If only one barnacle finds just the right spot on only one blade, the blade will pitch too deep and
