Having owned a Maramu that the previous owner was into for close to 250k when I bought it for substantially less, I'd advise caution about buying a basket case in the Caribbean. That's not a good

Hi Bill,
It always stirs our curiosity when we find an abandoned house..or boat, it seems like there should be a story associated with it. It's sad though when it is something as well thought out

Re: illustration of the Basic Maintenance of the Lofrans Tigres Wind
FYI
I failed to do #6 and YIKES!
When I arrived in Martinque I discovered the build up of salt had cracked the base. But I'm betting it hadn't been removed from the deck for over 30 years.

Hi Graham,
On our Maramu, there is a loop on the deck just forward of the main traveler. That is the attachment point for the wire stay which on the mizzen sail should extend about two feet beyond

Yep the MARAMU is a great all around boat. The sail plan mix can and does suit any conditions. We did two Atlantic crossing in flat seas and force 11 and the boat did just fine.

I totally agree with Ann-Sofie!
Add a sock to the mizzen ballooner and you will use it more.
BTW, when asked by others about that sail, we call it a "secret sail."
