Re: Deck restoration question
The thick gel-coat on the faux teak has a hard life with the combination of UV and temperature cycling. It's great non slip but it's too much to expect it to last forever. If the deck is very old then

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Companionway door
Eric , I am not planning to go to that much work, I see no reason to. You can raise the door further than it would ever be raised normally and you should be able to cut it over sized port to starboard

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Re: Companionway door [5 Attachments]
Danny, What thickness of veneer did you use ? Did you just cut it slightly wider and slide it in under the side rails. Hope all is well down there.
Thanks,

Dennis,
One other consideration, and for what it is worth...although we carried extra fuel on our circumnavigation in a Super Maramu, the most we ever used on a passage was 405 liters and that was on

Dennis,
If the fuel tank or fuel lines on my Maramu ever fails, it appears the the fuel will end up in the sump, not on top of the freshwater tanks. I also really like the gravity feed aspect. I

Re: Companionway door
Danny,
Without removing the entire companionway slide, how did you get the veneer under the side rails? Or did you just leave that "as-was"?

Woodcraft can supply teak veneer in 4 foot by 8 foot sheets that is bonded to a paper backing making it much easier to handle than raw veneer and it is only 1/42" thick (0.6mm) , so be careful with
