Quick question: MDKAL (695 hours) operates at 1500 rpm for 50 HZ. My oil pressure reads 25-30 psi at this rpm.
What is the rpm of your units and what oil Pressure do you

In 2014 on the way to Tahiti we developed a leak that filled the compartment outside the aft head.
At the time we couldn't work out where the water was coming from for a while, tightening the nylon

I don't think so Eric. There's a step-down in the shaft that isn't accessible if I remember correctly.
I'm not on the boat, so I don't have that part number either.

Thanks Eric. I took your advice a few years ago and had an aluminum wrench made.
So you'd leave it alone until the nut is nearly bottomed out? At this rate it'll outlive me. The boat is 17 years

As long as the nylon nut is not bottomed out you can just tighten the nut an 1/8th of a turn and all is well with the world.

Thanks for the info. We did quite a few miles from Majorca to 4 days out of Lanzarote… about 2000 + I reckon…
I will include the big Nut in my 6 month maintenance.

We arrived in Guadeloupe from Lanzarote. 7 days of slow slogging then 11 days of good progress. Total 18 days 20 hours.
