It looks like it is the vaccum sensor.
If sรณ, It triggers an alarm if/when the main seawater inlet is clogged.

In the same vein as Geovanni, I had a windlass cover made from super Sunbrella. Only removed when anchoring or lifting anchor and always reinstalled once at anchor.

We placed cut-t0-size spun furnace filter material over the inlet. Low resistance and easy to clean with water. Air flow is very good. Avaiable in most hardware stores. We also replaced AC

Itโs not supposed to be that noisy.
We had a similar issue, maybe not as noisy but still too noisy.
It turned out that one the pin/axis of one of the planetary gears was slightly dislodged
