Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] SSB Grounding
Paul,
Behind the chart table there is a green/yellow wire marked BLU. Without the SSB this cable is connected to the SSB grounding plate on the rudder and also to the ships boding system (zincs).

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] SSB Grounding
Thank you!
Do you or anyone else know where the thick (the thickest of man yellow and green ca 8 mm in diameter) yellow and green ground cable ends? it goes from a ground point behind the chart table

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Micro wave on Amel 54
Not sure, but I think I have the same unit. Does it have twist knobs versus electronic buttons?
Is there something you need from the manual? I might be able to scan. It is not a full-size

I do, but it depends on which microwave you have.

Kent the run on high heaters are the combo AC/heating units with Ele heat. Those fans MUST run on hi to keep the elements from melting/blowing their internal fuse.

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Fakir Heater Manual
I remember reading on this forum that the electric heaters should only be run on the High fan setting. Is that correct? If so, your plan to run all 3 on low may not be a good idea.

Thank you all for your suggestions! I have contacted Fakir and they are actually working with a company they distribute to in Kansas to see if they can import 2 new units for me. In the mean time does

Re: Photo of 24v relays on sy/Kerpa
Hi Paul,
Since they are 24v relays it is unlikely they are actually after the 24-->12v converter, as that would put them in the 12v circuit and they would not function. Probably well enough left

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Re: electrolysis on mast/boom connection
I will try to remove the bolt and clean out eventual crust or what ever I will find, then apply some Tef-Tec, I hope that will solve the issue. If that not work i will, I consider to put a ground wire

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Re: electrolysis on mast/boom connection
Hi Paul, thanks for this.. Do you think the potential will remain low after turning? or will it go back up again. I found 0.5 volt potential between the vertical bolt and the alloy block it goes

Re: Photo of 24v relays on sy/Kerpa
Thank you Craig!
They are after the "permanent" 24 v 12 v DC DC Converter, I don't know why, and maybe not important, but good to know when in future fault finding.

Re: electrolysis on mast/boom connection
DannyAfter turning the vertical bolt holding the boom a few turns the potential difference went down from 0,4 V to 5 mV, I will try to remove the bolt and apply Tef-Tec to it, but it's rather hard

Hi Paul,
I see you posted new photos this morning and asked what the devices are - those are 24v relays. Someone has written on them noting one is negative and one is positive so whatever device it

There is a company in Easton MD that rebuilds electric motors. I just had my 3 electric furlerer motors rebuilt there at a most reasonable cost.

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] SSB Grounding
Hi Paul,
It is indeed the ground cable.
I am not on the boat now but can assure you that something is attached to it. It may be the ATU or the antenna.. not sure..
