Re: Keel rust and grounding
Ben,
There are two separate issues here. First is the need to reconnect the keel to the bonding system. That is an annoying job, but by no means beyond the reach of a normal human! A half-inch

The copper grounding to the keel bolt in the bilge is not very hard to replace. You will need a series of socket extension rods to reach the keel bolt. The specs for making

Re: Fixed vs. Folding Prop
Hi Bernd,
You will get lots of differing opinions on this. I have a SM with no prop shaft alternator, but I have solar and a generator. Many with a prop shaft alternator LOVE its power generation

Craig,
Bar soap! Did you know you will get a lot less soap scum in the Gray Water Bilge by using gel soap?

Simple,
Türkiye (this is now the country’s official name) is of my list. I certainly do not change my boat for big bucks for a country ran by moron Erdogan. It’s a pitty but adios Türkiye,

Re: Wind instruments connected to front lighting circuit!
Bill,
That pesky "drip tray" is the only really serious design flaw on our Amel - when it rains my bar of soap gets soft!

Re: Wind instruments connected to front lighting circuit!
As Bill R suggests, this is certainly NOT Amel original, neither the wind instrument nor the wiring. When you see wiring done like that it should alert you to inspect anything else a previous owner

The answer to your question is known only to the previous owner and whoever installed this. This installation was done by someone with little or no understanding about your Amel and certainly

Re: Wind instruments connected to front lighting circuit!
Seems very odd. I’ve only ever inherited Raymarine instruments and their power comes from a red and ground wire direct from the display unit.
The second point is I’ve never had water in that drip

I’m not in the Med, but If I were I would buy a large plastic water container, temporarily replace the outlet pipe on the bilge pump into the container to empty where you can.
Means being frugal

Re: Furler solenoid wiring from switch-solved
Just to let you know, Amel designed the original solenoid tandem to wire in paralale maybe more redundancy or less load. However one 2 way solenoid with 4 heads + 2xswitch can do tge same. Now next

Wind instruments connected to front lighting circuit!
Hi,
Please see attached word document.
This one seems really odd to me.
Maybe, this is the way it's done!
Hopefully, someone can explain what is going on and point me towards a solution.
