Duane,
You say you're replacing the ball valves because the forward one is frozen. Before jumping to replacing as the only solution, have you tried to disassemble it? Look at any size new one in a

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Water heater long term storage
Mohammad,
I think that the issue is that you will get rust stained water in the tank from a number of sources. Those sources include the electric heating element and all of the fittings, etc.

I would empty the water tank and add camping anti freeze for the complete fresh water system. Change the heater element too.

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Water heater long term storage
Hi we drain the tank if the boat is in an area subject freezing.
Given the age of the water heater and that you got rust you might just want to change the electric heating element too.

Water heater long term storage
HI all;
The last time we came back after about 6 months, the hot water had some rust colored water for a coupe of days. We had emptied out all water from the main water tank but must have had some

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Wire tracing.
Your alternators (24 and 12v) should be wired separately from the engine ground. The main engine isolation solenoid is 12V. The relay which goes to the alternator light must be 24v.
Mine wasn't

Yes, Eric, they are all isolated ground senders.
I'm not sure why the oil pressure alarm goes through the relay, since the oil pressure gauge, temp alarm, and temp gauge all come directly from battery

Eric,
If you look at the drawing in the files section, you will see the large solenoid (relais de puissance) between the engine block and the 12v battery negative. A command relay receives power from

Dear Kent,
Unfortunately your diagram is not how my engine is wired,
Are all the senders on your engine 2 wire senders?

Hi Marelon is the best way to go long term. I know it's not AMEL but still a good way. Second be sure you get the correct thread it is NOT standard American pipe.

Tracing wires on my Amel SM is a real nightmare. Ten blue wires go into a conduit, 10 come out and not one has a label on either end. You try tugging on the wire you are interested in, and you find
