Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] year round Caribbean marinas recommendations needed
Aldo,
The ABC's are relatively safe...but
In 2007 we had to run from Bonaire to ChiChiRiviche, VZ because of Hurricane Dean, then a month later the eye of Hurricane Felix missed us by 30 miles in

Hi Pat,
Other replies have given you good input on B&G, which I think is still great. Your "ton of money" quote from your mechanic is interesting. I got a $64,000 quote. It included about $14,000 of

In my opinion, Le Marin Martinique is the best place in the Caribbean to have a year round slip...the cost including electricity will be around 500 euros/month. On a month to month basis it is 575

Bill,
As you may suspect, I will tell you do not do this unless you plan to race the boat.
It just is not worth it for downwind passage making. In most cases, you will set the traveler on a passage

Ben,
You just had an Amel moment. I had Amel moments for probably 6 years after we bought BeBe. In many cases these moments end with a smile because you soon realize that only Captain Amel would take

Duane,
Yes, definitely, disconnect failed batteries from the bank. You may have to rearrange the battery compartment to get the failed batteries together.
Your battery monitor will not be accurate

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Original instruments
Bill, Thanks for taking the time to respond. Would you know if B&G today is of the same quality that they have been in the past? Would you have any reservations about going totally B&G ?
Thanks,
Pat

Float: 13.5 to 13.8V
Absorb 14.25 to 14.4V
which corresponds closely to the 7 page (very synoptic) Dolphin manual I have from the previous owner which has
