Kent,
I understand now. I will try to remember to take a photo of the blocks on my mizzen boom.
The halyard that I use to hoist the motor is also used to lift the passarell off dock.

Hey Trevor. I have to take a line over the current block the way it's set up now. Maybe a few seconds more each time I lift the outboard.

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Re: Mizzen Boom Pully Block
Hi Kent,
If you did use those foot blocks, would it not be a hassle having to thread the rope through them every time that you want to hoist something?

Alan,
The majority of the failures are exactly as you describe them. You even get early warning with the deterioration of the outside sheath of the hose near the fitting.

Interesting...my connectors were OK ...it was their grip on the hose that was the issue, and slicing a cm off the hose and then re-installing the connectors seems to have fixed it.
Maybe I'm suffering

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Dessalator High Pressure Hoses
Kristy,
I use crimped connectors and they have never failed at the crimp. What has happened is that the threaded end fails after corrosion erodes a small hole in the tapered end fitting

I believe that the threads on the connectors are 9/16th. I am not sure of the thread type but I will try and visit my hydraulic shop Monday and get the exact spec.
