Bill
I guess we might need to be careful with option (2) as the -ve 12v and -ve 24v are isolated from each other and this option may connect them together.

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] House 24v battery use for engine starting in an emergency?
Good morning Bill,
Read with interested about the staring battery being a deep cycle.
Any picture of the 6 amp 12 volt 230VAC battery charger on the bulkhead?
Sincerely, Alexandre

While we are on the starting battery subject, I thought I would add something else...
The starting battery on all Super Maramus from Amel came with a deep cycle battery. Most owners that I know

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] House 24v battery use for engine starting in an emergency?
Colin,
That is pretty amazing because 18.4 amps at 24 volts is about 440 watts of power. How large is your solar array?
BeBe, #387, came with two short jumper cables. If the starting battery has lost

Thanks Bill
I had not quite worked through a methodology for getting the correct pressure but this sounds like a sound approach.

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Re: Fresh Water Pump / expansion tank - IDRO ECOINOX
Andrew,
I left a few steps out.
Find your high water pressure...point that your pump turns off.
Turn off the pump and bleed the pressure by opening a galley sink tap.
Then attach your bicycle pump to

Andrew,
I am glad that this worked for you and I am sorry that I wasn't much more help.
I am sure that you know this, but that needle valve is exactly like an automotive tire needle valve or a bicycle

HI,
Your photo of the stuffing box looks nothing like mine no similarity whatsoever.
Different bonding, no wire connected through the nut
Completely different rudder quadrant.

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Front opened refrigerator
Bill you are absolutely correct- the red light on the module indicates low DC voltage. I had battery bank problems recently and noticed that when this light went on the reefer shut down.

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Front opened refrigerator
Paul,
The fan is two speed. The lower speed is quieter, but less efficient. I suppose Amel did this for some owners that objected to the noise. There is no red light indicator on SM 387, but possibly

I was lead to believe that it was just meant to lower the noise level in the saloon when someone is sleeping there. I always leave it on high.
