Feruno GPS workaround
I have a Feruno GP90 that still works but now all the data ports have quit.
I bought an inexpensive mushroom GPS receiver and an Actisense NMEA expander that works well so the VHF, SSB, and Navnet 2

Small AC unit and extra drawers
I originally bought a small window AC until in Panama to keep the boat dry while we were out for a month. It cost $80, uses only 500 watts, is cooled by air, and does not need to keep the water pump

Re: modified stern rail on 54 to carry drum (Ankarolina on a Santorin)
Thanks a lot, Craig,
I have a spool of woven rode and a fortress anchor like yours, but I have kept it in a bag inside the garage without much use. Next time I get the chance I will dig it out,

Hi Ulrich;
Picked it up from an industrial supply house in Montenegro. I’m not on board and don’t remember the exact model, but if you search for submersible trash pumps, you should get a few

It's a dust/dirt pan. If you sweep up the salon floor, all you have to do is lift the floorboard in front of the galley sink and sweep the debris into this pan, then dispose.

Any clues to this mystery prize?
Hi there,
whilst rummanaging in lockers we came across the time below. We’re on an 85 Amel Maramu, it’s the same colour as the heads flooring, there is nowhere else that looks like this, but

I recommend the submersible pump for 2 reasons:
The boat's freshwater pump can be used, but it is probably not rated for continuous use. I say probably because the original pumps installed by Amel in

Re: Fresh Water Tank cleaning with isopropyl alcohol
Hi Bill,
looks clear, but why you recommend to use submergible pump instead of regular fresh water pump? If the chlorine solution (very diluted, like 5% of 1L ->50g to 900 L -> 0,005%) will go out
