Re: Main Sail Roller Battens
I look forward to seeing what you come up in testing. I'm more concerned about the sail damage than the batten itself failing. You could certainly carry a spare set as well. Personally I'm a lot more

I see that this grounding strap is attached to the end cap of the heat exchanger. Mine is connected to an area on the exchanger where the paint is removed and then to the pan of the generator.

Re: Main Sail Roller Battens
Thank you for the info Dave, I can see how over time the battens, particularly if they are left partially rolled in heavy air can have high dynamic stresses and cause fatigue on the stainless steel.

Bill,
The generator has a floating ground like the propulsion engine. Even the starter relay has a floating ground. The generator motor is not connected to the bonding.

AnnSophie,
Thank you so much for posting these swivel instructions. I think we have another "guru" to help us understand what we are getting into.

Hello Gang,
I am about to purchase this equipment. Some customisation of the basic design is planned; I want the bridle attached at the mid ship cleats, then running aft for a turn on the aft cleats

Forestay swivel maintainence on Super Maramu
Hi folks,
I have just uploaded an instruction on how to maintain your forestay swivel.
We have a SuperMaramu from 1998 but I think the swivel construction is the same for more models.
Hope this

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Onan MDKKDP Heat Exchanger
I didn't know that was possible, Alan. On Kristy, the generator doesn't start producing 220V AC until it had been running for about 10 sec. I guess that's ok if you're not worried about the impeller

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Onan MDKKDP Heat Exchanger
Yup, mine is the same , #437, and it is connected to the grounding system
BUT it still corrodes....mine needs a really good cleanup and the endcaps replacing.
The Onan is not a very well designed unit

The following is the way things were built on #387:
The original heat exchanger has a ground strap from the bolt on one of the clamps holding the heat exchanger to the central ground lug on the drain
