We flushed it with WD40 and released the swivel so it comes down but the technicians think the foil is scarred. It looks like the swivel is ok but will give it a good flush and cleaning. We are

Hi Eric, thanks for your reply.
I de-mounted the S shaped fitting at the top of the hose (mostly to gain easy access) and took the sensor off, lowered the S fitting and hose to the level of the sea

I replaced the sensor and found that one of the hoses had a small leak. Did
you try sucking on the hose that runs to the sensor?
That is how I now test my sensor.

We didn't go the marine use route. We purchased low pile berber from a carpet mart near us. Took it home and laid out the old carpet as a pattern and cut each piece. We then took all the pieces back

I googled the "honey beige marine carpet" and found several vendors. Was yours rubber backed like the original or did you have to use double sided tape to keep it from slipping etc.
