There is a spring on the companionway locking bar
On the inboard side of the companionway there are two threaded bolts sticking out of it.
Sitting on each bolt is a piece of stiff plastic tubing inside of a coil spring in the first photo attached

Eric,
You seem to have it backwards. The only "springs" in the system hold the bar OUT away from the notches on the track in a position that allows the slide to fall under gravity as Micheal has

The wooden bar sits into the notches, can leave it loose or tighten the knobs to lock it in position. The spring stops it rubbing on the door tracks

feathering props for a mango
My 28 year old max prop developed a crack in the body, discovered on a recent haulout. Never caused issues (when I owned it), but It is not repairable, so they say.
Any suggestions or experiences out

Anchor chain counter resets after power down
Our chain counter resets to 78.2 meters whenever it is powered off and on. We reset to zero, when the anchor is up and everything works fine, The issue obviously, is when we go to bring up the anchor,

By chain counter “hot” I hope that you mean just powered, and not hot to the touch. Bill Rouse suggests a way to turn it off, we also have the older version, I was unaware of that
