Re: [Amel] Fan Speed and capacitor
Bill, The 2mfd capacitor was dead as was my replacement.I hada 4mfd and this gave great exhaust but this smelt of overheated shellac. Unableto get 2mfd here I bought a 1.5 mfd which gives good results

Feeder Lines on Mast
We currently have our masts off. We noted there are 4 feeder lines to take the halyards etc up inside the mast. 2 of the feeder lines we have determined are for halyards and we can pull them back and

Thanks for the replies. A local marine electronics person has given me the impression is is really complicated as there are lots of wires between the control box and the relay box

The principle is of absorbing the shock load is absolutely correct however the line used for the jackstay is important. It should be of a dynamic material rather than a static one. For

Dennis,
I beg to differ. Jackstays should definitely not be taught but a little
slack. When a body reaches the end of its tether and the jackstay the shock
is pretty strong and will be increased

Re: Jackstay?
I have to agree with Miles as the jacklines should be taut. If not, with the length of a tether and the slack of the jackline, a person going overboard will become wholly dragged through the water

Re: [Amel] RE: Coolant Overflow
It occurs to me that the pressure test with the water heater hooked up would force coolant into the water in the heater tank. I don't want to do that unless I'm going to drain my fresh water system

Re: [Amel] RE: Coolant Overflow
Thanks again for your interest and advice about my coolant overflow.
Bill, the two engines were both plumbed to the same overflow tank when I bought the boat. I assume they came that way from Amel.

Thanks again .

I haven't noticed the water pump coming on more than rarely, Trevor....but it does come on for a second once in a while. It is cycling quickly when I'm using water and needs servicing/adjustment, so
