The chain counter on the 54 is entirely different from the one on the 53. It is an integral part of the Lewmar windlass. You need a Lewmar technical manual to service it. All the best, Joel F.

JP, also make sure you still have a magnet in the gypsy, their protective coating gets worn off and they disintegrate. All parts are available from Lewmar as well as the schematics.

JP, The sensor comes up from the bottom and senses a magnet embedded in the gypsey. You can check the connections in the forward locker for a start.
