Bill, I just need to get all three of the bearings out and replace
them. When I determine the sizes I will post them in case anyone wants to have them
on hand.

Steve , A few years ago I took some measurement and found I could saw an
inch or so off the bottom of the slider. The slider then was able to drop down

Joel, Yes, John given me the info I needed. I saw no indication of screws
and was thinking of pressing the shaft out ,thinking the plate may just be
pressed in . Iam glad I posted before I pressed.

Hi Pat. The information John and Eric gave is right on the money. I would guess you are a craftsman who measures three times and cuts once…
A little more elbow grease and you will find the screws.

Hi Pat, If you sandpaper off all the paint at the ends of the X not the + on the back plate you should see the filler hiding the screw heads.
Good luck, John, Bali Hai

Ann& John, Thank you for get back to me. I scraped the back plate there was
no signs of screws. I will scrape it further, assuming all bottom paint is
removed should the screws be visible?

Re: [Amel] Replacing bearing in bowthruster
There are a few screws under the paint and some putty.
Look in the back of the manuals-there is a diagram of the thruster there.
It is a very tight fit.

Re: Antifooling on maramu
Thanks Kent and Eric, for the advice, of course I'll paint the hull a few days before going to the water. I guess that 2 gallions might be enough for one coat on the maramu.

Very nice! I think I'll do something similar on KRISTY. That space never gets used on our boat either.
