Re: Stuck mainsail swivel
Hello Greg,
I answered already Dieter about this a few weeks ago. You probably have a horseshoe mast NIRVANA type.
Your swivel may be OK but the tube, which on this manual furler, is held by a needle

Re: Forward mainstay chainplate
Hi Kent. I would say this was caused by some external pressure from another source such as a dock or another boat or ???. The chainplate displaced the dimpled gel coat crescent so I would make sure

Hello Iris and Kent,
on your picture, there is a chip of white gel-coat coming off the toe-rail.
It seems that something (a neighbor) has pushed on the chain-plate from outside, and created the hair

Gap between the mizzen mast step and the rear cabin top on a Maramu
Dear Amel Owners Group,
Looking for a Maramu, yesterday I visited a unit for sale. The boat looks in good overall conditions but I noticed a gap between the mizzen mast support and the rear cabin top.

I forgot about the travel lift issue. Our D400 is on the aft starboard on a pole.

Re: Wind generators
I will confirm Alan’s sentiments.
Wind generators are, by and large, a myth. My good mate has one on his boat and from transiting the Pacific in company, I confirm that their performance is poor.

We have a D400, and while it's not particular;y noisy, doesn't vibrate, it certainly doesn't put out much power.
It came with the boat so for the meantime it stays.

I too have the super wind 350. It has progressive geared self feathering that fully engages in winds over 40 knots. I got 10 years constant use before the bearings wore out and I replaced it. Nil

It screws into an Amel-made elbow on an Amel-modified Vetus sea chest. I am not sure, but the threads on the non-modified Vetus sea chest without the Amel-made elbow are 2" BPT
