Re: Air con circulating pump
Hi Nick,
I replaced mine with a March magnetic drive two years ago and it has been going faultlessly since. As with yours it is much smaller and extremely quiet. I have been moored in Malaysia and it

Re: Improved 24v alternator pulleys and turbo heat shield
Nick,
Great find! The Leece - Neville was not an issue on the SM, but was an issue on the D3 in early 54s. I know this will help others.

Re: Air con circulating pump
Nick,
If you cruise in the tropics, that will not be enough water flow.
From my Amel Book:
"The basic rule of thumb is 1 gallon per minute (GPM) is required for every 4,000 Btu’s of capacity. So,

Re: Genoa Furler motor
Bernd, contact the original builder of the SM gearbox. I assume he made the 12-volt version in the SN. The last time I discussed this with him he had about 20 new motors for the 24v SM

Re: SM Hard top
I believe that whether or not solar can be integrated into a hardtop depends on the model and manufacturer of the panels. The Amel 50 uses SolbianFlex Panels which are made in Italy.

Re: Genoa Furler motor
Amel has now chosen Facnor as their furler manufacturers for the new Amel 50...maybe the 60 as well
They have a good selection of sizes.
Cheers

Re: SM Hard top
PS Would you have any pics of the support structure? I’d like to get a sense of how it might work with the traveler as well as ingress and egress to the cockpit. Thanks! Dave

SM Hard top
I shall be very interested to read Bill's review of the Amel 50, but you can have solar on a hard top on an SM.
We had this carbon fibre top made for us in Greece this winter and are delighted with

Re: Dessalator water maker pre filter housing
Hi Kevin;
There is a tool, similar to an oil filter wrench, that locks into the large plastic ring at the top of the filter housing to unscrew. Then filter housing lowers and can be removed, once this

Re: Genoa Furler motor
Most all my clients and all of my own experiences with Reckman furling on Amel boats has been entirely satisfactory. It isn't cheap but you can trust in getting what you pay for.

Thanks Loïc,
That's the only configuration that I've seen (not that I've seen very many). But I was curious whether the double+desk was ever offered on the SN.
