The prop shaft brake shoes still have 3mm each. But I guess this is not enough. The bolt does not get out enough to press the brake shoes strong enough.

The brake pads should be replaced before it goes down to metal. When this happened to us we ordered from Amel in France and sent along a picture of the pads after we had removed same.

The correct advice is to use the 50 amp charger when running the generator and after a minute add the 30 amp one. When the charge rate falls to about 25 amps turn off the big charger. The

Jose, thanks for the comments. It is an easy and straight forward process. Not hard to do was it. When I disasembled a gearbox for the first time and saw the solid muck that was the old grease
