Thanks everybody for your help. I will try and free up the solenoid with some corrosionX and multiple button presses. I will post an update if this works.

Hi to all,
if it may helps :
some years ago I had same prolem.
A yanmar technician came on board and solved the prolem with little W40 spry in side. You can easly remove the blak rubber cover.

Attached are photos of the solenoid and the box.
They are not available in the USA.
The black button is a manual override. That what makes it different than a
normal starter solenoid.

Thanks for the info. If I cannot get the solenoid to stop sticking I will bypass as you suggest until I can get a replacement part from Amel.

If so it is a Valeo relay and only available from Amel for about 75

Yanmar 4jh3hte negative starter solenoid.

I have had ongoing problems with the Yanmar 4jh3hte starting circuit. When the engine was hot it would often fail to start. I have since ordered and replaced the Yanmar relay in the starter
