Have you ever considered angling it or putting tape on the sensor so that it only covers the transom forward?

Greetings all,
While cruising Mexico’s Pacific coast this year I had the Garmin Pan optic PS-51 forward sonar start to behave irregularly and ultimately overheat and fail. Garmin replaced it on

Matt,
My understanding was that passive infrared sensors, the type normally used, detect heat emitted by humans/animals, not motion. Some of them have sensitivity adjustments too, just haven't been

Re: Depth Sounder Replacement in a SM 2000
I think all of the B&G Hydra depth transducers installed when SMs were new were 38mm.
B&G makes a 51mm 2" depth transducer that is also forward looking sonar. Something to think about with a new B&G

One more thought on this. It is a good idea to add washers tothe screws holding on the deck light part. My new one was slapped with thehalyard and came apart (made in China). The screws pulled through

Hi Tim,
Mine fitperfectly and the holes aligned. 3 wires – easy peasy. It is mounted with pop rivets.I carefully drilled out the old ones and had no issue getting the new one to align.

I am changing my navigation electronics at the moment. I ordered the Airmar UDST800, no moving parts, less power consumption than the DX900 (125mA instead of 400mA) and i think as cruiser i don't need
