Kent,
I’m not sure how to address your seawater concern, but as far as your starting issue I would highly recommend checking the exhaust elbow as Bill R suggested before going any further.

Re: Amel 55 - Water in Aft Lazarette
Joerg,
I believe that Amel installed a bilge pump with the last 55s produced. I have seen probably about a dozen 55s with a bilge pump installed by owners. I believe it is very important in a 55

Martin,
That copper foil is part of the Amel Bonding system. It is a copper foil that is connected to a bundle of yellow/green bonding wires at the top of the gray water bilge and to the ballast stud

Metal strip in bilge sump A54
Hi all,
in the bilge sump I discovered a metal strip that is fixed somewhere at one end and loose at the other. Does anyone know what it is for? Part of the bonding system?
Thanks for you

Re: Haul out facilities in FL?
Kelly - The $4000-$4500 I quoted was "ballpark" for the two months the original post spoke about.
Crackerboy's 2019 rates, for example, were $1.50 per foot per day plus a $5 per day "Utility" charge.

In central Florida I would recommend Cape Marina at Cape Canaveral Florida. It is a DIY yard with reasonable rates. I am in their yard now. If you dont need a DIY yard then Scorpion Marine is another

I would close the seacock if it didn't start on the second attempt.
When we purchased Nebo the genset was not operating. The previous owner had a tractor mechanic who replaced the injection pump and

Conversation Threading in Outlook
I am starting to look through some of the previous emails and have noticed that Outlook does not thread them correctly. It is looking like some peoples mail clients don’t support the Conversation ID

Re: Haul out facilities in FL?
Well, if you want to travel just a bit, go over the Florida line into Georgia to St. Marys Boat Services. They will haul you out, you can do all your own work, you can buy your own suppies and nobody

Thanks Michael, I bled the injectors after changing the fuel filter.
I have run the starter for at least a minute total without the engine starting. At what point do I worry about water backing up

Playboy and Crackerboy are good haul out choices. I've used them both. The very cheapest haul out facility on the East Coast is Greencove Springs, 25 miles up the Jacksonville River. It's quaint,

Re: Haul out facilities in FL?
In SouthEast Florida, we would make three recommendations for DIY marinas.
Playboy.
Lauderdale Marine Center
Cracker Boy.
All costs are pretty similar.
Playboy is easy to get to up the Dania Cutoff
