I’ve got a 2013 North Tri Radial Genoa for sale.  The sail has a new UV cover installed by North Sails-Charleston last winter.  The sail still has some life left in her and I would objectively classify it as a 5 out of 10.  We are currently here in Annapolis, MD.  Ideally someone local needs a sail and can pickup in person as I can imagine to box and ship it may be cost prohibitive.

$500 plus shipping & packaging.

Please email me for additional info.

Greetings!
Both pumps and the service kit found new owners.
Thank you for your interest. I was surprised how many wanted the pump.
I choose the recipients based on first come first serve.

I do have another AMFA 24V Bilge pump sitting in a storage unit in Brunswick GA. It came from Brassring A54, former owners Mark & Debbie Mueller.
I will NOT get to Brunswick until next year's hurricane season.
I promise to then contact everyone who was interested and not served this time.

We also have the desalator 160.

I have been running the BTM 61 as a replacement. For about a year. And I agree: not enough pressure. With fresh pre filters we start with the low pressure needle much closer to the orange than with our original OEM lift pump.  Resulting in much less time on the pre filters before a change (likely premature)
I would definitely change to the higher pressure lift pump given the chance.

Hello Michael, I can confirm that on my Dessalator 240lt, the manufacturer replaced the previous original low pressure pump with a Calpeda BTM61 E. It should therefore be well suitable for you D160, go for it.

I agree with Teun and Porter - we have had only very positive experiences with AMEL after-sale-service (SAV), and all of the team, including especially Maud - I am glad to report that my experience in 2016, upon purchasing Perigee (then, Moonshot), mirrors Porter's - the AMEL folk well knew our boat (and, the previous owner's, who had bought another AMEL new from the factory), and offered a similar opinion.

And we have not been disappointed. AMEL's service to owners, both with their boat and in-person (if wishing to visit the AMEL factory), is second-to-none.

We try to support AMEL SAV at every reasonable opportunity, to keep this SAV alive and well.

Recently there have been, on this forum, some (in my opinion unwarranted) criticism on S(ervice) A(pres) V(endre) @ AMEL.

I like to share with the group that last Friday afternoon, AUSTRALIA time, I suddenly realized that my Main mast needed a new foot sole and contacted SAV AMEL. I asked for expedited handling as next week my masts are going back on the boat. Maud replied that my usual contact was not in all week so she would handle. In spite of being short staffed she promised to send the Main and Mizzen foot sole that very day.

Discussing this with a fellow AMEL next to me here in the marina they also had asked SAV for parts needed urgently as they are leaving port imminently; we contacted Maud again and suggested to combine our orders.

Long story short – 4 or 5 hours later we received FedEx shipping confirmation for the parts to be delivered latest September 9, 2022.

Outstanding “after sales service” from AMEL, in this case Mdm. Maud TOUILLET.

Re: tb/SAV AMEL/AYOG

Porter McRoberts

The SAV from Amel is one of the prime reasons to own an Amel. In talking to the owners of so many other production yachts there is usually either no service or poor service, with the exception to Leopard actually (and thank goodness for them, they need great SAV).  I remember when I called Amel in 2016 looking to buy our 2010 yacht from its first owner, just poking around. The person who answered the phone knew our previous owner by name, the boat name and assured me we were buying a great boat. I was shocked.
We’ve had many years of friendly, expert and expedient service from both Maud and Thierry.
And then the not-so-secret-weapon to cruising on an Amel: BR.
Great combination.

Thank you Jason, the west to east route was an adventure for sure.  Hard port tac most of the way posed challenges with the heads and vapor lock on the engine. 1st time cought me and we fried the impeller. Fun chasing the blades up the system.  Was ready for it the second time, had to pop a hose off start the motor til water came out then all was good in the world. I did the ol start the motor trick twice a day but that did not do the vapor lock, I am sure it blew the water out of the exhaust though.  As for the heads, it took a long time to get the water to start running in the toilet when on that tac.  Other than that is was a great time.

Re: Shore power with batteries shut off

Daniel Alexander Thompson

Last winter, when i left the boat, i did this in a marina with free shore power.

I shut off the batteries with one solar panel charging them all. I also shut off 220v system.

I ran two separate 220v cable into the boat to individually power the following.

One, A Makita dirty water pump which i put in the bilge with the "pump activation float" on a very short "leash". I ran the outlet for this pump over the rear of the boat to the dock so people might see an emergency stream of water.

And two, a dehumidifier.

I didn't want to power a heater while away from the boat because of fire risk.
