Thanks for that Bill.. really helpful.. it's a 1997 and yes it was in the cockpit locker.. but no QUAI markings or delay timer - just a 40A Telemecanique Relay Solenoid Switch. I guess as part of the upgrade I should add the 20A breaker too as you advise. You've posted a pic of the Onan auto relay too.. do I need to worry about that as part of the Multiplus / Lithium upgrade?

Thanks Bill!.. yes that's exactly where it was.. no markings, just a grey box.. not easy to get to but I guess the cockpit locker needed a clean out anyway :)

Doug,

How did you get them to display on the PAGES screen?  I can see mine on MAIN, but not PAGES.

I second the ease of setup...they are open source, so you can do just about networking you want.

Remote temperature, pressure and humidity monitoring

Doug Smith

Hello all,

I came across an interesting device to monitor temperatures in the different refrigerators, freezer, or even the engine room. I am also placing one in the cabin.  They are called Ruuvi Sensors, and measure temperature, humidity and barometric pressure.  All Bluetooth transmission to a local phone app on your mobile phone, but also easily added to the Victron remote monitoring so you can see the temperatures and pressures while away from the boat.

Using the Victron Cerbo, it becomes another sensor, similar to the tank and temperature sensors that the Victron can monitor, you can connect these Bluetooth sensors wherever you want to monitor a temperature.

Shipping is free if you purchase more than 100 Euro worth, so I bought five and they seem to be pretty nice little toys to add on for those who are always asking themselves if their refrigeration pump is still working?  How hot is my inverter working, how hot is my cabin getting while I am away from the boat?  Plus they can trigger a switch or relay to activate things to correct whatever situation you are concerned about.  Screen shots and a youtube video showing how to add to your Victron system are attached.  Hope some of you find these helpful. No commercial interest, except I bought some and find them useful.

I am 95% sure that a standard automotive relay is used in the Onan.

On our 1996 SM the transfer switch was located behind the panel at the forward end of the cockpit locker, next to the rear of the watermaker control panel.

The wiring is disappearing behind the engine rooms front insulation. Any ideas how it is continuing?
Where is the 12 V voltage generated? I would expect one of the three transformers under the navigational table to be the source. Or does there exist another source?

The wiing diagramms of Amel do not show any details concerning this sea water pump.

This is the inside of the solenoid switch. The outside of the box is labeled QUAI. It will be in two places depending on the year and model of your Amel. I have no idea what hull number MOthership is, but I think it is old enough for the QUAI box to be in the cockpit laz. The following photos are from my Amel Book.

On hull 426 it is situated above the genset in a grey plastic box. Just follow the cables from the genset and you will find. I don't have a photo at the moment. As there are some modifications on your boat, maybe it is in the "Sarel" box.

Re: Bowman DC60 Oilcooler

Mark McGovern

Arthur,

The correct part number is DC60-XCC.  The "X" designates the oil port size (3/8” BSP).  The "CC" designates which rubber couplers.  They are the same couplers which is configuration "C" in Bowmans catalog (Bowman Part Number 3367NP).  Here is a link to the Bowman catalog:  https://ej-bowman.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/DC-Oil-Cooler-Issue-K-English.pdf

I will add it to the files section in case the link is changed or disappears.

I recommend purchasing it from Lancing Marine (https://www.lancingmarine.com/) in the UK.  They sell it at a great price and provide great service too.  When my cooler failed I called Bowman directly and they sent me to Lancing Marine to purchase a replacement.

Thanks, Michael - mine were so corroded as to be unrecognizable - I'll shop for tiny ones - I've got some on my radio controlled model sailboat so maybe a hobby shop. Brass would be best, for sure.
