Re: Saloon 9eh Climma Air Conditioner replacement
Hi Eric, Hope all is well. As my Climma units
die, I have been replacing them with Webasto FCF Platinum
units. I am very happy with these. My oldest Webasto unit is 2
years old. The plumbing for seawater is the same size and the
units are plug and play. It includes the control panel, so
this is an additional savings. The units appear to be
well-made. One of the key
selling points for me was the cooling water requirements
(GPH). It is much lower than Dometic requirements and as you
know the Amel moves the same water through all 3 units, so it
is good not to have a finicky unit that will shut down. Also,
they are less expensive. https://www.defender.com/product.jsp?path=-1&id=3050595 Hope this helps.

Saloon 9eh Climma Air Conditioner replacement

Has anyone replaced the Climma compact 9eh unit in the saloon? I replaced the aft cabin one with a Dometic, but it will not fit under the seat in the saloon. Fair Winds Eric Kimberlite Amel Super Maramu #376

Kristy had not had those bushings since I got her 12 years ago. There seem to be no oscillations nor I'll effects on the swage or cable.

Thanks Eric, Did you use any specific type of adhesive to get the laminate to attach, or did you just use the adhesive that was already in place on the laminate and not add any other adhesive? Doug Smith, Aventura A-54-113 Hilton Head SC

Did you read the document? Before that step is cutting/chipping away the fiberglass resin at the bottom of the valve and loosening the clamps. Then unscrew the valve. Re: shaft brake too loose
"drill a hole in the forward calliper where the piston engages it. Get a bolt and 2 nuts and tap the drilled hole with the same thread. Put one nut on the bolt and then thread the bolt through the caliper until the nut is tight against the piston. Weld the nut onto the caliper. Remove the bolt and add the second nut as a locking nut and reassemble. This way I would be able to adjust the pressure on the piston in the future to account for wear that kept the brake from holding."
I did almost exactly that, but no welding, just drilled a hole in the caliper, tapped it, put a nut on a bolt and threaded the bolt into the hole. Adjusted everything so it all worked and did up the locking nut on the outside of the caliper to hold it in place. It's been like that for 6 years and I have never had to adjust it, There's still plenty of meat on the brake pads, and even though I bought a new set of pads from Maud, I'm not going to change them out until the current pads are worn out. Daniel,
While the truck radiator cap that I found in Sardinia seemed to work ok I wanted to be sure that I had the correct one, So when I had more time I bought two radiator caps that were for the Bowman exhaust manifold and one of those caps is being used on the engine. You are correct about stamping. I just took a look and the cap is stamped on the bottom showing 7 lbs.

It permeates the poop smell and you can smell it in forward cabin and head. Here you cannot discharge black water tank, only pump out, so as you can imagine all solids come down and stay in that hose.

Bill, I'm not sure what do you mean by unscrew the valve. It seems laminated in place. so while the hose is heated it will be more flexible and I can bend it to stick both ends? -- Fair winds Ruslan Osmonov Phanthom, A54 #44

As we were re-assembling our furler with the Amel Martinique team, my understanding was they thought these bushings were very important. It seems to me they would be, otherwise the inside of the furling drum would rub on the swage, and be off-center from the weight of the furling motor. There would be a significant bending stress on the whole system where the foil attaches to the furling drum.

Re: A54 Black Water tank hoses replacement
This is step 7 of the attached: With a heat gun, heat both ends of the hose back about 3 inches, then unscrew the valve. Once it is unscrewed, you should be able to pull the hose loose from either end as long as the end is still hot.
