Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Bow thruster lip seals
Thanks! Very timely on this. We hauled Cream Puff today and will be doing the prop, Amel drive and bow thruster this week.

Mark, Yes, I think using RTV on the propeller shaft seal improved the water tightness. Blue or Clear works. I guess that I should update the instructions in the files section. Bill Rouse On Aug 31, 2015 1:54 PM, "'Mark Erdos' mcerdos@... [amelyachtowners]" <amelyachtowners@...> wrote:

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Mizzen Mast wiring conduit and channels
sailormon <kimberlite@...>
Bill, My loud hailer was mounted on the starboard side of Kimberlite just above the spreader. It is mounted facing down towards the deck. There are pulls mounted on the top of the mizen that you can catch an use to pull the wire to the inspection port on the port side of the mizzen. There is a lip inside this that allows for drip loop. You will also find your radar cable there.
I use the interior of an used Teleflex cable for a small boat as a snake. It is stainless and has been with me for 20 years. The mast feeds into the starboard side of the aft head. From there is a board above the passageway door that allows the wire to go into the headliner over the midships cabin. On the forward side of the mid-cabin there is a removable panel that gets you into the nav station. Fair Winds Eric Kimberlite Amel Super Maramu #376

I have a 10 and 20 # tank on kimberlite with a USA regulator. I drilled out the jets on the stove and oven as the oven in particular was not getting as hot as it did on the blue bottle gas. It was a drill number 65 if I remember correctly. This has to be done with a pin vise by hand.
I also found it the marine plumbing store in La Rochelle in the marina where Amel keeps their boats an amazing find. It is a kit of 4 adapters that adapts almost any tank to any other supply. The store was impressive as it only carried marine plumbing items. Fair Winds Eric Kimberlite Amel Super Maramu #376

Thank you for the information. Furuno-Sweden put me in contact with a shop that does repairs and they've looking into whether it's fixable or not. I already have a separate AIS with GPS antenna, so I'm looking for a behind-the-panel unit with a remote

Anyone have one of these iCom's?

Re: Mizzen Mast wiring conduit and channels
Hi Bill, when I installed my SSB antenna wire from the main backstay, I drilled a hole in the mizzen mast for the wire and pushed it down the mizzen mast. There's a removable panel on the port side so you can pull a cable down. Then remove the panel in aft head by the mirror, pushed piece of coat hanger wire from the mast access down and out beside the mirror, tied the wire to it and pulled it through.....
Hope this helps Cheers Alan |

I have precisely the SH 2200E; the E suffix indicates conformity to the Euro standards. Two days ago, I reviewed my SH booklet: in the 2200E, the FOG function is not available. The USA/Canada version has the FOG function available if it is installed in conjunction with a SH PA. Regarding your specific question about the internal GPS, it is absolutely reliable installed at the NAV table. Remember, if Euro based, you need a special DSC course before you can legally operate a DSC VHF. I don’t know about other jurisdictions. GL Jean-Pierre Germain SY Eleuthera, SM 007.

Bill
On our boat there are a couple of strings that run down the length of the mast from top to the bottom on the port side to behind the inspection window - and possibly through to the area to the right of the mirror - not sure about this last statement but
I am sure it was not hard to get a wire through from this area to behind the inspection area. These strings can be hooked from the hole in the mast on the port side at the radar level, therefore allowing a wire to be pulled through. I ran a wire for a 4g arntenna
via this route.
