Re: Location of Gen/Shore Automatic Relay Switch

This is the inside of the solenoid switch. The outside of the box is labeled QUAI. It will be in two places depending on the year and model of your Amel. I have no idea what hull number MOthership is, but I think it is old enough for the QUAI box to be in the cockpit laz. The following photos are from my Amel Book.

On hull 426 it is situated above the genset in a grey plastic box. Just follow the cables from the genset and you will find. I don't have a photo at the moment. As there are some modifications on your boat, maybe it is in the "Sarel" box.

Location of Gen/Shore Automatic Relay Switch
#replacement
Alan "Woody" Wood
I've just installed a Victron Multiplus Inverter in our 1997 SM but can't find the Gen\Shore automative relay switch to wire in the inverter side.
I've checked lazorette, port locker and engine room but can't seem to find it.
Where is it located and does anyone have a photo so I can recognise it if it's in plain sight and I'm just not recognising it?!

Re: Bowman DC60 Oilcooler

Arthur,
The correct part number is DC60-XCC. The "X" designates the oil port size (3/8” BSP). The "CC" designates which rubber couplers. They are the same couplers which is configuration "C" in Bowmans catalog (Bowman Part Number 3367NP). Here is a link to the Bowman catalog: https://ej-bowman.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/DC-Oil-Cooler-Issue-K-English.pdf I will add it to the files section in case the link is changed or disappears. I recommend purchasing it from Lancing Marine (https://www.lancingmarine.com/) in the UK. They sell it at a great price and provide great service too. When my cooler failed I called Bowman directly and they sent me to Lancing Marine to purchase a replacement. -- Mark McGovern SM #440 Cara Warderick Wells, Bahamas

Re: Overhead Curtain Track Fasteners
Thanks, Michael - mine were so corroded as to be unrecognizable - I'll shop for tiny ones - I've got some on my radio controlled model sailboat so maybe a hobby shop. Brass would be best, for sure.

We have just replaced our curtains. They are fixed with a very small wood screw, normal steel wood screws, if you can, buy brass ones, Michael Nebo sm251

Re: Sharki - Cockpit Table Ideas?
We recently installed the Legun bracket shown below and built a small cocktail table to mount on it. We have seen it on several other boats. So far we like it. Regards, Daniel and Lori Carlson on sv BeBe SM #387
Hello all! First post by owners of a recently purchased Sharki, which doesn't have a decent table in the cockpit. There is what I believe to be a mounting bracket for one, just below the mizzen mast.

We are looking for recommendations of other's designs or a fabricator near the central East Coast area that someone has had good experience with. Cheers! Karen and Mike

Bill, I don’t think the dipstick is tight enough to form a seal, as we said , more of a puzzle than a problem.
Thanks Again, Pat SM Shenanigans Georgetown, Bahamas

Re: Lewmar 58 winch slipping

Bill,, You have confirmed my suspicion, that it is the pawls most likely. I have to admit that servicing of the winches was on my to do list before we left and it did not make it to the top before we left. I will service them as soon as I fix the bad water leak we discovered under the sink last night. I have spare pawls onboard.
Sorry we missed you guys at Black Point ,good luck with your seals and fishing,we caught two mahi sailing south 36 and 45”, finally. Thanks, Pat Shenanigans
