We also agree with previous writer, we have a 40 kg Roccna and if it fails the anchor bottom is really bad. The best is that if it fails, it digg it self in again.

We are so pleased that we have bought a 20 kg to use for tandem anchoring together with the 40 kg. The stock is a tiny bit to wide close to the blade for the opening so you must be careful when you take it up, and not let the windlass drag it all the way, leave inch or so. But it is not a big problem. You can find pictures of our Roccna in the album Lady Annila. Regards Ann-Sofie, S/Y Lady Annila. Possible sale of Nirvana genoa furler and genoa
Dave_Benjamin
We are going to pull the mainmast on Exit Strategy this summer. We may replace the genoa furler, which is a 1986'ish Nirvana. While it''s in good working order with a rebuilt motor, we are thinking about replacing it with a manual furler since the entire rig will be rebuilt.
The work will take place in California. Since the foil is one piece I think it would have to be trucked but perhaps someone would be interested in the rest of the components. We'd also sell our genoa which has about year of use on it. It's a traditional Maramu genoa. We're making revisions to the sailplan and testing some new ideas for my company, thus the genoa will become surplus. Demonstration of furler and genoa prior to rig removal could certainly be arranged. Regards, Dave Benjamin S/V Exit Strategy Maramu #29

It makes sense that you would have a Hurth HBW250 like Stargazer. Typical Amel to put a larger one than the minimum, I have a HBW250 but on a 60 hp Perkins on my Maramu. If you need spares it is now ZF25M. There is also a ZF25 which is a differnt (hydraulically actuated) gearbox. Another website you might find helpful is: http://www.zf.com/corporate/en/products/product_range/further_product_ranges/boats/matching_tool/matching_tool_large.html Regards, John Maramu #91

Hi Tom,
Once you are certain the linkage is not the problem, you need to find out the model number. Having found out the model, it should be on a plate on the gearbox, if painted over a careful clean should do the trick, you ask for a "rebuild kit" from ZF, or their local agents. Any competent workshop should be able to do the rebuild, the kit includes bearings, seals, drive discs etc. I have just had our HBW 250 rebuilt - it is now the ZF 25. I would guess it would likely be a Hurth HBW150 or HBW100. Try google and see if it looks like yours. They are now ZF. (HBW150 = ZF15M). Rather than make suggestions that may lead you on a wild goose chase the following link may help .... http://www.foleyengines.com/resources/tech-tips/hurth-marine-transmissions-ins-and-outs-basic-service (I have never had any dealings with the company but their website looks helpful.) Now I am wondering when I last changed the gearbox oil on my boat:) John, Maramu #91
