Re: Fresh Water Pump
Jérémy,
I'll second Bill R.'s opinion, that TF Marine pump is top notch. Very expensive, and lasts forever.
Replacing the original pump is usually done because fo the difficulty in parts sourcing.

Re: Foredeck alarm
Paul,
This happened to me during my first winter storage. It wasn't flat batteries, and I couldn't put my finger on exactly what caused it. The boatyard reported some electrical storm activity around

Re: Fresh Water Pump
Hi Jeremy, I replaced the fresh water pump on SM384 with this Sure-Flow pump 9 years ago and it has performed flawlessly. It automatically varies its speed depending on demand, and pumps up to 5

Re: novice problem
Hi Matti. See the photos attached. The clamping system mirrors Amels main mast stay attachments. It is important to put the tibe over the mizzen boom for head room. There is no need at all to fix it

Out of curiosity, is the MDKAL a predecessor or a newer version of the MDKD series?
Many thanks.

Re: Replacing Genoa furler rivets with screws and backing plates
Thanks Gary. Why did they cut the top? In my case, only the very bottom where the rivets had been needs to be removed. The rivet holes in the foil were so elongated that we just couldn’t get rivets

Re: Foredeck alarm
Could be a low voltage alarm from a Boxtron unit. If it is, batteries need charging. Also, you should probably review your DC power management while you are away.

I have also just uploaded the full service/shop manual for the Onan MDKD series. This is for the 6.5kW genset used on the older Amel SM boats. It is one of the best laid out service manuals I have

Foredeck alarm
Hi all,
I have someone looking after by boat and he has reported a beeping alarm coming from the foredeck locker. I guess its either the anchor or furler electrics. Would anyone know what it is

Re: Replacing Genoa furler rivets with screws and backing plates
Hi Steve,
I know either answer as the folks at Martinique did that conversion for me. Really glad I had it done and just a word to say that they did not need to cut off the little bit of the bottom
