Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Re: Electric Heads
Eric,
I am not a fan of bleach used as you describe. In the long run it is very hard on the copper plumbing in the seachest manifold and holding tanks.
The sulfur smell comes from living things dying

Did somebody cut a hole into the side of the keel stub to reach keel bolts????
You should have that piece of keel just in front of the c-drive framed. I

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Re: Electric Heads
Tom,
We have the manual Jabsco heads, and NEVER have the kind of problem you describe. Something is going wrong with the installation of your joker valves, but I can not think what it might be.

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Re: Electric Heads
I had a similar problem when I originally received Kimberlite from Amel. It was delivered with electric toilets.
The solution I found was to hold down the red flush button for 10 seconds.

I cannot address the electric head issue, as we have manual Jabsco’s. Our boat was right on the cusp of switching from manual to electric.
That said, after having owned our fair ship for 8 years, I

Ian and Margaret,
Like you, our SM has two factory installed manual heads. We are happy with them and have no plans to change them.

Our SM has two manual heads, both Jabsco. We are looking at Installing Jabsco Quiet Flush Electric Heads. They seem to fit the SM head floor pan cut out nicely. Any opinions on number of electric

Hi All,
I just again completed my oft repeated many hours labour of love applying furniture polish to every square inch (centimeter) of varnish in Ocean Pearl. My reward, a gleaming shining example

Eric,
Actually, I am using that exhaust elbow. Have you replaced the entire exhaust hose out to the thru-hull?
Thanks,

Re: Bilge maintenance
Hi everyone. I have put into the bilge one waterglass of vinegar per week recently. It has definitely reduced the smell in the engine room and there is no appreciable smell anymore in the cabins.

I am sailing a SM #374
I had to remove the keel bolt at the bottom of the bilge to install a new ground/bonding cable, the original one being broken.
I got pictures/process from Alban - Amel

Exhaust Hose - how much to replace?
I'm replacing the exhaust elbow and hose to the waterlift muffler.
The exhaust hose had a soft spot in it that was a few inches below the exhaust elbow and was due to a corroded wire reinforcement.
